Coach Joe seemingly happy in a headlock.
  • Our Adult BJJ classes are designed for beginners to advanced students.
  • We follow a comprehensive teaching model. This means that we encourage each member to assist and teach others as they themselves master each technique.
  • We meet you where you are.
  • Jiu Jitsu provides each person with confidence, critical thinking, and the ability to face challenges.

What to bring to Jiu Jitsu

  • Most classes require a Gi. These can be purchased online. Ensure that your Gi is rated for BJJ – we don’t want any unfortunate wardrobe malfunctions.
  • White, Blue, and Black Gis are allowed in class.
  • Adult classes are for ages 13 and above.
  • Students should wear a rash guard and shorts under their Gis.
  • A positive and open attitude.

A Note about Hygiene

At the academy we work hard together. It is important that we all follow these hygiene guidelines to keep us all healthy.

  • To help prevent injuries, fingernails and toenails must be kept extremely short.
  • Uniforms and rash guards must be kept clean. We’ve found that having a couple of Gis in rotation helps those who attend multiple classes.
  • Bathing regularly is vital to keep down mat-born infections. Mats are cleaned regularly but taking this extra step helps keep our academy free from infection.
  • If you are ill, please stay home. We work closely with one another and don’t want to share illnesses with each other.
